Mussolini's relationships with foreign leaders
Adolf HItler
Mussolini's relationship with Hitler was very strong. They became tightly bonded over the success and failure of WWII, and shared similar views. When Mussolini failed in his attempts during WWII, Hitler saved him by dragging him along in his efforts and even appointed him a position after his his major failure during WWII. Although Mussolini and Hitler disagreed on how they should deal with the British and American Forces, Adolf hitler and Benito Mussolini had a good relationship and worked together for the majority of WWII.
Joseph Stalin
There was an almost nonexistent relationship between Jospeh Stalin and Benito Mussolini. They did not have a strong bond during WWII, mostly because there was nothing for Stalin or Mussolini to gain from eachother or give eachother. However, Stalin did have a very solid relationship with Adolf Hitler, one of Mussolini's closest allies. Stalin looked up to Hitler and thought highly of him.
Hideki Tojo
Although Mussolini fought in Europe and Tojo fought in Japan and China, they did share a lot of similarities although they did not have a relationship. Mussolini and Tojo were both respective leaders in their coutries, both serving as prime ministers after being appointed by the emperor of their country. However, Mussolini acted as a dictator while Tojo was only a military leader without total control over all of Japan. They shared some of the same views and went about gaining control in similar ways.
Francisco Franco
Although Franco was a very different man than Mussolini was, his efforts were praised by the Italian fascist party. Apart from Mussolini, Franco did not want a war. Mussolini and Franco did not have a relationship, partly because he had declined Hitler's invitation to the Axis Powers. Franco served as a dictator of Spain and had a role similar to Mussolini. Franco's Spain is characterized by many as being a fascist state, just as Italy was.
